“Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.”

– John F. Kennedy

That time of the year is upon us once more when tides of change begin to sweep across medical student-run organisations. You might become a new president faced with the daunting task of governing and running a small organisation. Perhaps you’ll been appointed treasurer, but are looking to learn how to manage the finances and obligations of a not-for-profit organisation. Advocacy could be your thing but you’re uncertain how you might run a successful social media campaign to ensure your message is heard. Or you might be worried about ensuring the wellbeing of your committee through a busy year.

Leadership in any form can be a steep learning curve.

MSCV is proud to announce that we will be running our Victorian Leadership Seminar (VLS) on Sunday October 12th 2014 for a select group of the brightest young medical minds in the state. With speakers to inspire and workshops to empower, our program will provide you with leadership skills to tackle areas such as advocacy, policy, social media, finance, administration and wellbeing. Speakers and workshop leaders have been recruited across a range of vocations including government, medical administration, public health and media.

Applications will open September 1st 2014, and will close September 14th 2014, 11.59pm

This event is available to all medical students from Deakin, Melbourne, Monash and Notre Dame.

The event will run at the University of Melbourne, approximately 8.30am to 3.30pm.

Successful applicants will be notified soon after the close of applications, and will be required to provide preferences for the workshops, and purchase a ticket (at $35) to cover morning tea, lunch and the running of the day.

Keep an eye out for more info to come!
